O federal government plans to auction 50 regional airports and/or aerodromes located in the Legal Amazon and the Northeast in the first phase of the AmpliAR project. The information was released by the Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho, this Thursday (16).
According to the federal government, the program has the potential to reach R$3.4 billion in investments. The program aims to attract private investment to terminals located in strategic regions with low connectivity.
The ministry is working with the possibility of the first auctions being held in the first half of 2025. The program’s notice should be released between March and April.
The program allows for simplified hiring of current concessionaires operating in the country to manage the operation of 102 aerodromes considered strategically important, but of low commercial interest. All airports included in AmpliAR were defined based on the needs identified in the National Aviation Plan (PAN).
