"Government without any strategy": first fortnightly debate of the year marked by accusations from the opposition

In Parliament, the opposition accused the Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, of not having any strategy. In response, the head of Government recalls the past of previous governments.

The fortnightly debate with the prime minister was also about the economy and health, with the PS leader accusing Luís Montenegro of having no strategy. But the first debate of 2025 was marked by the head of the Government’s fierce defense of Hélder Rosalino.

The Prime Minister highlighted this Wednesday that in changing the name of the Secretary General of the Government he did not let anyone down and that, if it were up to him, Hélder Rosalino would be in the position.

Montenegro wanted to leave the Hélder Rosalino topic until the end of the debate, when the parties had no longer used up all the time for questions. Strategy of the head of the Government who was accused of having none in health.

In the economy, the accusation was the same. Luís Montenegro recalled the captivations of socialist governments to make a point of comparison with the goals of the PRR – Recovery and Resilience Plan, which have already reached the 40% mark but which is short for the opposition.

For the Government there appears to be only one option. Save the social state only with investment and wealth creation. The phrase repeated on so many other occasions by the Tucano Executive, which reached the first debate of 2025 but with many doubts from the opposition.
