Lurdes Diniz, Joana Diniz’s mother, decided to issue a statement on the afternoon of Thursday, January 16th, in light of the news that came out in the press about her daughter and her family.
Aiming to restore her good name, since João Diniz, Joana Diniz’s ex-husband and father, gave an interview in which he spoke about the reason for their divorce and even the personality differences between the two, Lurdes Diniz began by showing her “displeasure” and “sadness” at what you read.
“I hereby show my displeasure and sadness that, in the absence of my daughter, such painful words were uttered and totally lacking in truth. Even more so from those who should protect and defend it”but
Joana Diniz’s mother spoke after her 25-year marriage with her daughter’s father, explaining that the end of the relationship was solely and exclusively due to João Diniz’s excessive alcohol consumption: “The relationship came to an end due to the wear and tear that it always had on everyone at home”he assured.
Lurdes Diniz finally regretted the words said by her ex-husband about her, reinforcing her point of view: “I only say these words (which would be unnecessary) to reestablish the truth of a very unnecessary intervention in the said interview”he concluded.
