Fogged windows in the car are the fear of all drivers. How can this inconvenience be solved easily and quickly?
Really, no wonder. The laws of physics work even when we reject them a thousand times. We are talking about fogging the windows in winter. This trouble happens when moist air hits the cold glass and an unpleasant fog suddenly forms, which makes it impossible for you to drive properly. What now? “Run the fans to their highest speed and temperature. Aim them at the windows and open the windows a little. The problem will be over in half a minute,” promises the expert.

Moisture carriers
Having to deal with fogged windows is a nice nuisance and therefore the expert recommends focusing on prevention. “Don’t think that fogged windows only create a temperature difference between the glass and the climate in the car. You – the driver and passengers – play a big role here.
The more you are in the car, the more you breathe and fog the air. It’s no wonder that the window will soon look like a shell of water has stuck to it,” jokes the expert, adding that various things can also be carriers of moisture, such as a wet jacket, snow boots or the scraper you used to clean the window.
Adjust the seal
One effective method to deal with foggy windows is sealing. “During the winter months, the sealing rubbers get a lot of work. Therefore, carefully check the seals at the doors and also on the trunk of the car. If the seal is very cracked or swollen, go to a service center where they will replace it,” recommends the expert, adding that if the seal is in decent shape, treat it with some oil or spray, technical vaseline.
Turn on the air conditioner
If you have a defective seal, then you must not be surprised that you have humid air in the car and windows like beer glasses… To get rid of this, turn on the air conditioner. It will aerate your atmosphere in the car a little and get rid of humidity. Thanks to this, you will also get rid of water droplets on the glass and your windows will be “viewable” again.
People’s solution: Shaving foam!
Another solution to deal with the humid air in the car (and thus prevent fogging of the windows) are various dehumidifiers, of which there are many on the market. The choice is yours. If you have deeper pockets, you can try shaving foam.
Although it does not solve the cause of moisture itself, it can be used as another form of prevention. How to do it: Wash the windows with a classic cleaning product. Then apply shaving foam to the inside of the glass using a microfiber cloth. Let it work for a while and finally polish. This preparation creates a protective film on the glass that repels moisture. Bingo!
Final advice
Experts agree that dirt and clutter also contribute to humid car air. Scientific research has shown that dust and grease, for example, contribute to water condensation, so try to keep them (especially the inside of the windows) in good condition.
The textile seats themselves, which absorb water, are often risky. Therefore, before you go to the car, knock your boots and jacket off the snow. Don’t forget the rubber mats, which are often full of mud, snow and water.
