He described Thursday’s attack on the gymnasium in Spišská Stará Ves as a huge tragedy the dean of Spišská Stará Ves and the local Roman Catholic priest Cyril Hamrák.
“I was shocked, I’ve been here for a short time, half a year, and I thought that I really live in the most peaceful town. What takes place in the human hearts of children and youth is probably something unexplored. In my opinion, we should focus more on it and reveal the pain of children that they carry inside themselves, that they don’t talk about and then explode like this on the outside.” said Hamrák, who met with the survivors.
According to him, there is a lot of dislike and disrespect among people, and instead of dialogue, understanding and understanding, aggression and anger come. “I am very sorry, and we, as servants of the church, will certainly work to talk to people so that even these moments that happened resonate in us and we become better,” added the dean.
According to him, people can do this by starting to accept, tolerate and like each other in a normal, human way. “It is only necessary to show that I am willing to communicate, to put things in order, even if I make a mistake, to admit it. I think we lack humility in the nation and this is the result, because the young people only absorb what we elders pass on, and then we have eyes for crying.” added the dean.
