The Health delegation of the Government of Andalusia in Córdoba is studying up to 44 cases of food poisoning due to a montadito de pringá that those affected would have consumed in a tavern in the capital of Córdoba, which has remained closed since then. Sources from the regional administration have informed EFE that they have carried out an “inspection of the premises” and “taking samples” of the food in the establishment, while “monitoring and survey” are also being carried out. of all the cases detected so far.
The sources have added that with the current data it is possible to verify the existence of 44 cases “of which only three went to the health services” and, of them, two had “negative stool cultures” and another “negative blood culture”, although this person has died “without being able to confirm that the cause was the consumption of foods related to the outbreak.”
Furthermore, the “suspected food,” according to sources, would be a “montadito de pringá” since “it was the only one consumed by all those affected,” while “perfringens and food samples are under study.” Likewise, “the handlers in progress” are also being studied, without any illnesses among them, while “the actions in the establishment, on the affected people and the suspicious products” continue.
The Health delegate, María Jesús Botella, has informed the media that an investigation is being carried out, although until last Monday, January 13, “no complaint was received regarding this fact” and “nor was any communication received from any doctor who would have attended to none of those affected.” For this reason, he explained that until two days ago the investigation of the poisoning began, for which “the premises have already been inspected” and “samples of the existing food in the establishment” have been taken in addition to ” appropriate epidemiological surveys.
“With the current data we can indicate the existence of 44 cases and the suspected food is a pringá montadito, since it was the only one consumed by all those affected,” stressed Botella, who has detailed that the food “is not industrially produced.” “, but “it was made in the establishment itself.” Finally, he has indicated that “the protocols that the Ministry of Health has for these food infections” are being followed and has advocated waiting for the “results of the analytical tests” and the end of the investigation.
For its part, the consumer association FACUA Córdoba has demanded in a press release that the Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs clarify what the brand and manufacturer are, as well as the establishment where it was distributed and any other data that serves for identification. , of the montaditos ingredients.
