Scrubbing the stove burners seems to be a tedious and tedious task. However, it doesn’t have to be like this, because all you need to do is use a simple home remedy to quickly and easily get rid of dirt and grease. We tell you how to do it.
Dirty burners are a problem not only because of their appearance, but also because they can significantly affect the functioning of the device. This is due to the fact that a dried layer of fat and burnt food remains can block the holes through which the gas should escape.. As a result, the flame is asymmetric and pots placed on it heat up unevenly.
This can result in higher bills because food will take longer to cook and gas will escape to the sides instead of heating the dishes. Additionally, it will also make our pots burn much easier and thus wear out faster. Moreover, if not our burners, then an unpleasant smell will be released during cooking.

Fortunately, in order to get rid of dirt from the burners, we don’t have to scrub them for a long time and bother with cleaning dried dirt. It turns out that all we need to do is use a simple home remedy and use some from our kitchen, thanks to which we can easily clean our burners. Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 pack of baking powder,
- 1 package of yeast,
- half a cup of vinegar,
- juice of one lemon.
Mix all these ingredients together in a bowl. Then we reach for a foil bag and put the burners into it. Pour the prepared mixture over them and secure the bag with a rubber band. Shake the bag lightly to mix everything thoroughly and leave it for half an hour.
After this time, we will notice that the water in the bag became cloudy and the dirt became detached from the burners. Then just remove them from the bag and rinse them under running water. Finally, dry them carefully and place them back on the stove.
This is a very effective method because a mixture of yeast and baking powder, reacts with vinegar, creating an effervescent liquidwhich helps dissolve grease and dirt. Moreover, the lemon juice contained in this mixture will additionally refresh the surface of the burner and add some shine to it.
However, using bags is not the only way to clean heavy dirt from burners. If we don’t have the above ingredients at home, then… we can try other methods of cleaning the burners:
- Vinegar and baking soda – a good idea is to create a thick paste of 3 tablespoons of baking soda and half a glass of vinegar. After applying it to the dirt, leave it for 20 minutes, then wipe it off with a sponge and rinse it off. There will be no trace of grease or burns left.
- Coca-Cola and soda cleansed – it’s an unusual but effective method. Pour one glass of the drink into a bowl and mix it with 3 tablespoons of baking soda. Then we put the burners into the mixture and leave for 45 minutes. After this time, the burns will be dissolved and the dirt will be softened, so just wipe the burners with a cloth and rinse with water.
- Salt and lemon juice – in this case, we only need to mix 2 tablespoons of salt with the juice of one lemon. This will not only act as a natural abrasive, but will also degrease the burners and make them shiny. Apply this mixture to the burners, leave for fifteen minutes and then wipe them with the soft part of the sponge.
