Why is it important to validate invoices?

Invoices pending in the system after the deadline will not be considered for Income Tax deduction purposes, representing financial losses for the taxpayer.

How to access e-Fatura

  1. Ask for an access password on the Finance Portal, if you don’t already have one, for yourself and the other members of the household. This password will be sent to the tax address in approximately five days.
  2. On the portal, access the “Income Tax Deductible Expenses” menu and click on “Consumer”.
  3. Enter your credentials to view accumulated expenses by sector.

Steps to validate invoices

  • Pending invoices: If the portal indicates pending invoices, click on “Complement Invoice Information”. Identify the correct sector for each expense. If in doubt, consult the paper invoice or search for the business entity.
  • Health: If the expense includes products subject to 23% VAT, such as creams or medicines, check whether they have a prescription. Check “I have a prescription” and indicate the corresponding amount.

Deductions by sector

  • Health: 15% of expenses are deducted up to a limit of 1,000 euros. Products taxed at 23% require a medical prescription.
  • Education: Includes monthly fees, textbooks and other expenses, deducted by 30% up to a limit of 800 euros.
  • General family expenses: Any member of the household can accumulate up to 250 euros in deductions.

Pay attention to deadlines
