The Judiciary of Acre, through the Coordination of Children and Youth (CIJ) and the Monitoring and Inspection Group of the Prison and Socio-educational System (GMF), reported this Friday (17), that it inspected 100% of the socio-educational units in the Acre in 2024.

The statement highlighted the number of adolescents hospitalized in the eight care facilities for adolescents and young people who committed criminal acts in the State.
According to the Socio-Educational Inspection Panel, recently launched by the National Council of Justice (CNJ), which presents national data in an unprecedented format on the system that receives adolescents and young people, the socio-educational units inspected have 114 adolescents hospitalized out of a total capacity of 357, which is equivalent to just 31.93% of the occupancy rate.
The panel also highlights that 6% of these teenagers are male, and the majority are 17 years old (35%). Regarding race/color, 70.3% identify as mixed race, 11.9% as black, 5.1% as indigenous.
The tool also allows you to access information such as the number of deaths, suicides in units and open cases about torture. Data on pregnant and breastfeeding adolescents, the LGBTQIAPN+ population, people with disabilities and mental disorders, data on staffing, as well as detailed monitoring of inspections carried out were also included.
Acre has socio-educational units in the municipalities of Rio Branco (4), Feijó (1), Juruá (1), Purus (1), Alto Acre (1).
