Bahia entered the final stretch of pre-season in Girona, Spain. Next Monday (20), the Squadron will leave Europe and return to Brazil to compete in the 2025 competitions.
The tendency is for Bahia to use its main team starting next Thursday (23), against Sampaio Corrêa, at Fonte Nova, for its debut in the Copa do Nordeste.
In the initial planning released by the Bahian club, the alternative team, made up of under-20 players and other athletes who are out of space, will play the first three games of the Bahia Championship. The last one will be this Sunday (19), at 6:30 pm, against Jacobina, at the José Rocha stadium.
Although the first team’s debut is getting closer, some players should take a little longer to take the field. Rogério Ceni revealed, for example, that striker Willian José reached one level below physically and will undergo special preparation.
“It is an assessment of the Group [City] I needed a more experienced player, who makes a good wall. I think he arrives a little lower physically and should take a little longer than the others to debut, both in the Copa do Nordeste and in Baiano”, said the coach.
Defender Santiago Mingo joined the group in Girona in recent days and will only carry out three activities in Spain. On the other hand, midfielder Erick, midfielders Michel Araújo and Rodrigo Nestor and striker Erick Pulga are fully integrated into the squad.
