Forget about breadcrumbs. Coat the cutlets in this and they will be licking your fingers

Is there a healthier alternative breadcrumb coating? It turns out that yes. It’s worth coating the pork chops in… oatmeal. Moreover, they can also be used for breading fish and vegetable cutlets. Check out the recipe for the best breading ever.

Classic breading for pork chops is usually made of 3 ingredients. Moreover, we should use them in the right order. Which ones are we talking about?

First, coat the meat in flourthanks to which the egg will stick to it better. The most common choice is wheat, but you can also use whole grain, rice or corn.

Then combine the flour with the second layer, i.e. beaten egg. It is worth seasoning them with salt, pepper and other favorite spices to enrich the taste.

The last, outer layer of classic breading is made of breadcrumbs. Thanks to it, pork chops become golden and crispy. This effect is achieved with a regular, whole grain or panko roll.

Oatmeal breading is a healthier alternative to traditional breadcrumbs. It contains valuable fiber that supports digestion and prevents constipation. In addition, it improves intestinal peristalsis and has a positive effect on the intestinal microflora.

In turn, the beta-gluten contained in this product is responsible for reducing the level of “bad cholesterol”. Its regular consumption helps control blood pressure and reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Thanks to its structure oatmeal absorbs less fat when frying, which makes the dishes lower in calories. The breading does not lose its crunchiness.

Additionally this product provides B vitamins and minerals such as magnesium, phosphorus, iron, zinc. We also consider it a source of antioxidants that support the protection of cells against damage caused by oxidative stress.

Ingredients:

  • pork chops;
  • 100 g of your favorite flour;
  • 100 g oatmeal;
  • 2 eggs;
  • spices: salt, pepper and optionally – paprika, granulated garlic, herbs;
  • oil for frying.
