Santos x Mirassol: how it was
The first half was electrifying. Santos made an impressive 17 shots in the opening stage. Mirassol, seven. Peixe was superior, but the team from the interior of São Paulo also went on the attack several times.
Goalkeepers Gabriel Brazão, from Santos, and Alex Muralha, from Mirassol, appeared with great interventions. At 20, Brazão prevented a goal that would have been anthemic. Yuri Castilho took a risk from midfield and only didn’t score the “goal that Pelé didn’t score” because Santos’ goalkeeper stretched to avoid it.
At 30, Iury Castilho headed into the area and Gabriel Brazão “performed a miracle”. A score of 0 x 0 would be unfair given what the teams produced. It was up to Guilherme, at 48, to open the scoring for Santos. Back at Santos, Soteldo gave a great pass to Guilherme on the right and the striker shot. The ball deflected, deceived Alex Muralha and went into the goal.
The game went to halftime with the Santos fans celebrating and singing “Olê, olê, olê, olá! Go back to your house, Neymar”. The attacker, revealed by Peixe, could be leaving Al-Hilal in the next few days.

The second half was also busy. Both teams continued to finish a lot. At 18, midfielder Roni, who came on during the first half at Mirassol, had freedom in the area to shoot, but sent it out. Roni replaced striker Davó, who suffered a physical problem.
In search of a draw, Mirassol’s coach, Eduardo Barroca, put the team forward and introduced left-back Reinaldo, ex-Grêmio and São Paulo, and striker Clayson, ex-Corinthians. At 21, Yuri Castilho shot hard from inside the area, but Gabriel Brazão saved.
At Santos, coach Pedro Caixinha took reinforcements Thaciano, Leo Godoy and Zé Ivaldo off the bench, in an attempt to give the team new energy, but it was Mirassol who continued to put pressure on. At 35, the visiting team complained about a penalty after Leo Godoy hit Reinaldo in the area. Referee Flávio Rodrigues de Souza did not score, VAR Ilbert Estevam da Silva did not request a review and the game continued.
Mirassol was looking to struggle in the final stretch, but Guilherme appeared again. Missing in the middle, at 40, the Santos striker hit with great skill and hit Alex Muralha’s right corner. A great goal.
At 48, Mirassol still had a penalty in their favor. JP Chermont brought down Clayson in the area and Yuri Castilho took the penalty two minutes later. On the beat, he finally surpassed Gabriel Brazão. However, on the scoreboard, the victory went to Santos.
