Actress Carolina Serrão was approved by the municipal coordinator of BE in Lisbon as head of the party’s list for the capital’s chamber in the next municipal elections, maintaining openness to a possible pre-electoral coalition on the left.
According to a statement released this Thursday, Carolina Serrão’s name will still have to be ratified by the plenary of activists on the 25th.
This choice does not put aside the possibility of a possible pre-electoral coalition on the left, with PS, Livre and PAN, as BE had already announced since last year that it would present its own candidacy for the capital’s municipality, remaining open to discuss a common program.
“As important as ending the right-wing disaster in Lisbon City Council is tackling real estate speculation and touristification, included in the city’s master plan since the times of Manuel Salgado. It is with this agenda that the Bloc reaffirms its openness to a broad debate program that responds to the housing crisis and removes Carlos Moedas and that affirms an alternative for the city”, reads the statement
