Man is hospitalized with object measuring almost 1 meter inserted in his anus

A 60-year-old man was admitted to the emergency room on Tuesday (14/1), with an object measuring almost 1 meter long inserted into his own anus.

He was treated urgently at the Senador Humberto Lucena Emergency and Trauma Hospital, in João Pessoa.

About the case

  • The man was treated in the emergency room at a hospital in João Pessoa.
  • He had an object measuring more than 1m inserted into his anus.
  • The man underwent removal surgery and is in stable condition.

To safely remove the object, the patient underwent laparotomy surgery, which involves opening the abdominal cavity. In other words: the material was removed from the patient’s belly.

The man, who remains under medical observation, said he did not recognize the item or how it ended up there.

In a statement, the hospital confirmed the case but, at the request of family members, was unable to provide further information about the patient.
