Mountain rescuers from Zverovka helped on Thursday (January 16) to a 41-year-old Slovak ski alpinist who was injured in a fall already skiing in Salatínská dolina. The Mountain Rescue Service (HZS) informed about it on its website.
A ski alpinist fell while skiing in the Central Chute and caused a serious fracture of the lower limb. HZS also asked the crew of the Helicopter Rescue Medical Service from Poprad for help in the intervention.
“Mountain rescuers arrived at the scene shortly before the arrival of the helicopter, from which the doctor was lowered using an on-board winch. Together, the patient was treated and prepared for evacuation. Subsequently, the doctor and the patient were evacuated from the place with an on-board winch and they were headed to the hospital by air.” approached the intervention of the HZS.
Mountain rescuers during the descent, they witnessed another injury, when a 36-year-old ski alpinist injured her knee. Rescuers treated her and transported her to the parking lot in Spálená dolina, from where she continued on her own at her own request.
