Former striker Romário debuted his channel, Romário TV, on YouTube, this Thursday (16/01), with an interview with Neymar, Al-Hilal striker.
Among many topics, Ney’s future was the subject of part of the conversation between the stars. Santos and Flamengo were mentioned by the player and Sporting News provides details.

What did Neymar say about Santos and Flamengo?
When asked about his future, more precisely between playing for Santos or Flamengo in a possible return to Brazil, Neymar was sincere.
– When this started coming out, they put me at Santos, at Flamengo, everyone started sending me messages, and I said: “Wow, how cool, how delicious, an entire country talking to me, friends, rival fans…” . He started giving me a little deal, because I really want to go back one day, but I hadn’t thought about that possibility yet. But after this news came out I thought: “Wow”… Emotion or reason, how do you decide that (laughs)? I always said that I wanted to play for Flamengo, for everything Flamengo is. And Santos is my childhood love, so it’s my home – said Neymar, who also joked:
– If my father buys Santos, of course I’ll come back – concluded Neymar.
What are Neymar’s plans if he leaves Al-Hilal?
Neymar even entered the sights of Inter Miami (USA), where he could recreate the famous MSN trio, with Messi and Luís Suárez.
Another American club interested in Neymar is Chicago Fire, which is trying to negotiate with the player and even made an official proposal, according to journalist Santi Aouna.
However, according to Jorge Nicola, Neymar’s plan A would be a return to Brazil. The ideal scenario for the athlete, which has been considered since the end of 2024, is to return to Santos.
In fact, there would have been a conversation between Neymar and his father with the aim of trying to transform Santos into SAF, which would be seen as the best idea for an eventual return. But this is a more distant plan.
Still recovering from injury, Neymar aims to acquire his best condition to return to Vila Belmiro, where he would play until the middle of the year, at least.
Peixe returned to Series A of the Brazilian Championship and has already become champion of the second division. There was a meeting between Neymar’s father and Santos at the end of last year. There is no ready-made proposal, but there is a financial plan drawn up.

The Saudi newspaper “Aboutmsr” published that Neymar can defend Flamengo.
Also according to the publication, Rubro-Negro appears as the strongest club in the race, as it has the financial power to meet the star’s demands.
