The US Supreme Court supports the law that would force TikTok to stop operating before January 19

The Supreme Court of the United States supported this Friday the law that could force the social network TikTok to suspend its operations in the country before this Sunday, for not having separated from its parent company, the Chinese company ByteDance.

Trump talks to Xi Jinping

Minutes before the Supreme Court’s position, the president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, and the president of China, Xi Jinping, held a telephone conversation this Friday in which they addressed trade issues, as well as the fentanyl crisis and concerns surrounding the Chinese social network TikTok.

“The conversation was very positive for both China and the United States. I hope we solve many problems together and get started right away“Trump has stated on his profile on the Truth Social social network, where he has committed to, together with Xi, doing “everything possible to make the world more peaceful and secure.”

Previously, the Chinese news agency Xinhua had confirmed the telephone conversation between both leaders, although without delving into details.

Trump won the United States presidential election last November and will take office on Monday for a second non-consecutive term. Although Xi was invited to the inauguration, it will ultimately be Vice President Han Zheng who will attend to represent Beijing.
