The former president () said this Saturday (18) that he hopes that the president of , , will help with his ineligibility in Brazil. He, however, did not detail how this could be done.
Bolsonaro spoke to journalists at Brasília airport, after leaving Michelle Bolsonaro. The former first lady embarked for the inauguration of the American president, which takes place on Monday (20).
On more than one occasion, Bolsonaro became emotional when he mentioned that he would not participate in the inauguration of the President of the United States.
“[Trump] His presence has already influenced the entire world. Prime ministers who are falling, Hamas making a deal, the [Justin] Trudeau resigned. In Mexico, large seizures were made. I would like to shake his hand, I wouldn’t be able to talk”, he said.
“But, certainly, if he invited me, he is sure that he can collaborate with Brazil’s democracy by removing political ineligibility, like the two of mine that I had”, he added.
Asked how this could be done, Bolsonaro said: “Just his presence, what he wants, just actions. He will not admit certain people around the world persecuting opponents, what he calls lawfare, which he suffered there. Great similarity between him and I. He was also attacked. […] I’m not going to make any guesses or suggestions, he knows what’s going on.”
