Between the 15th and 31st of March 2025, Portuguese taxpayers will be able to consult the global amounts allocated for IRS deduction on e-Fatura. This stage follows the deadline for validating expenses related to health, education, houses, housing, general family expenses and expenses with ICMS benefits.

The novelty of this phase is that the values ​​presented already include house rent, interest on eligible real estate loans, user fees and expenses not reimbursed by insurance companies, which are not available for consultation in the month of February.

Checking Health and Insurance Expenses

Some health insurance premium expenses may not be properly validated in the e-Fatura until February 25th. This occurs when the platform does not recognize the broadcaster as a healthcare service provider. If this situation persists, DECO PROteste recommends that taxpayers manually enter these expenses when submitting their Income Tax declaration, between April 1st and June 30th. To do this, you must refuse both the automatic IRPF and the automatic import of e-Fatura values.

When there is no need to act

If all values ​​imported from e-Fatura are correct, there is no need to take any additional action. When completing the declaration, simply accept the automatic import of expenses in Annex H, selecting “No” in table 6C, which asks whether the taxpayer wishes to manually enter the values. Thus, the system will automatically process the assigned deductions.

What to do in case of errors

If you identify incorrect values ​​or disagree with the values ​​presented in the e-Invoice for health, education, housing or housing expenses, you can choose to reject the automatic import and manually enter the correct information. When selecting “Yes” in table 6C of Annex H, it will be necessary to fill in all the fields relating to the expenses of each family member. The Tax Authorities will only consider the values ​​provided by the taxpayer.

Regardless of the method chosen, keep proof of all expenses for a period of four years, in case it is necessary to prove the changes made.

IBAN update for refunds

Before sending the declaration, ensure that the IBAN registered with you is up to date. All refunds or payments will be processed based on this information. To check or change the IBAN, access the personal area of ​​the Federal Revenue Portal and confirm the data in the “My area” section.
