Feed the cyclamen with these leftovers. It will bloom for many months

The plant feels best in cooler rooms with lower temperatures is from 15 to 18°C. Too high a temperature causes the leaves to quickly turn yellow and shortens the flowering period. Cyclamen prefers well-lit places, but without direct sunlight. The ideal place will be a windowsill on the eastern or northern window.

Naturally fertilizing cyclamen using kitchen scraps is a great way to reduce organic waste. Instead of throwing away carrot peels and banana peels, they can be used to create valuable fertilizer. Thanks to this, we not only care for the environment, but also save money that we would normally spend on commercial fertilizers.

Carrot peels are rich in vitamins and minerals that are essential for healthy cyclamen growth. Vitamin A supports root development, a B vitamins improve plant metabolism. Whereas vitamin C strengthens natural defense mechanisms. Carrot peelings also contain magnesium, calcium, phosphorus and potassium, which support flowering and the general condition of cyclamen.

Preparation fertilizer from carrot peels it is simple and does not require specialized tools. Just collect the carrot peels, wash them thoroughly and cut them into smaller pieces. Then place them in a blender and blend until smooth. The mixture prepared in this way can be dilute with water in a 1:3 ratio and use to water cyclamen once every two weeks

Alternatively you can place the peels in a vessel and pour warm water over them. We leave them for a few hours for the nutrients to penetrate into the water. After this time, strain the liquid and use it to water the cyclamen. This treatment can be repeated every two weeks.

Regular use of carrot peeling fertilizer stimulates the plant to produce more flowers. Vitamins and minerals will contribute to the healthy appearance and intense color of cyclamen leaves and support the plant’s natural resistance to diseases and pests. The fertilizer will strengthen the cyclamen root system and make the plant less susceptible to pathogen attacks.

In addition to carrot peelings, it is worth considering other home-made fertilizers that can significantly improve the condition of cyclamen. Mandarin peels it is an excellent source of vitamin C, calcium, phosphorus and potassium. To prepare the fertilizer, simply pour warm water over the cuticles and leave for 24 hours. After straining, the liquid can be used to water plants every two weeks. This fertilizer supports healthy plant growth, improves flowering and strengthens natural defense mechanisms.

Onion decoction This is another effective way to enhance cyclamen flowering. Onion peels should be poured with boiling water, cooled and used for watering. Onion decoction provides plants with essential nutrients such as potassium, calcium, magnesium and phosphorus, which support healthy growth and flowering.

Coffee grounds is another homemade fertilizer worth trying. They are rich in magnesium, phosphorus and potassium, which support the growth of acid-loving plants such as cyclamen. You can add the grounds directly to the substrate or prepare a liquid fertilizer by pouring water over them and leaving for a few days. This fertilizer improves the soil structure, increases its permeability and supports healthy root development.

Watering cyclamen is one of the most important aspects of its care. The pot should be immersed in water for a few minutes, and then thoroughly drain excess water. This method of watering ensures even hydration of the substrate, while protecting the tuber against rotting. You cannot allow the soil to dry out, but you should also avoid excessive watering, which may lead to fungal diseases.

After flowering, cyclamen goes dormant, which is a natural stage of its life cycle. During this time, the plant needs less water and a lower temperature. Then we limit watering and allow the substrate to dry out slightly between waterings. It is worth moving the plant to a place where where the temperature is approximately 10-12°C. During the rest period, cyclamen may shed its leaves, which is a normal phenomenon.
