Fluminense reported this Saturday (18) that midfielder Paulo Henrique Ganso, 35, was diagnosed with myocarditis — a small inflammation of the heart muscle — during the team’s pre-season exams.
According to a statement released by the club, the midfielder did not show symptoms, but will be away from team training for a month.
“If the clinical condition is no longer detected, you will be able to return to training normally”, informed the Rio team. “The myocarditis was acquired recently, as it had not been detected in the tests carried out during the six years he has been at Fluminense. The most likely is that it is due to a very strong flu that the athlete had in November”, says an excerpt from the text.
Still without starting lineups, Fluminense will face Maricá this Saturday, at 7pm, in the Campeonato Carioca.
