The statement from the Security Secretariat of the State of São Paulo this Friday (17) is that delegate Fábio Pinheiro Lopes, known as Caipira, one of the heads of the (Department of Investigations into Organized Crime), is being investigated by the State Public Ministry (MPE) on suspicion of illicit enrichment. For this reason, he promoted changes in the leadership of two specialized departments at the institution.

Known as Delegado da Ostentação, Caipira has been the target of questions regarding his assets since 2013. Amid the success of the song “Camaro Amarelo”, the now former head of Deic has already been the focus of investigation for owning the luxury vehicle at the time. of the song, but in white, as well as a collection of high-end watches. Lopes, received a monthly salary of R$8,000. The Camaro and the watches alone were valued at more than R$330,000. Questioned by journalists as the investigations were ongoing, the police chief also quipped: “Can’t I have a Camaro?” At the time, Caipira’s justification for the assets was that he had a business consultancy company, in addition to being from a wealthy family, with his parents owning land. Now, again, the police officer was removed under the same suspicion.

While investigations are being carried out regarding the assets of Fábio Pinheiro Lopes, at Denarc (Department of Narcotics Investigations), delegate Carlos César Castiglione takes over as director in place of Dr. Ronaldo Augusto Comar Marão Sayeg. Castiglione has worked in the Civil Police since 1993. He spent 14 years in the Anti-Kidnapping Division and was already working in Denarc, but in the Narcotics Investigations Division (Dise), and was at the forefront, together with Dr. Sayeg, of Operation Downtown, one of the most in 2024 to dismantle the organized crime ecosystem in different parts of the central region.

Sayeg, in turn, leaves the Denarc board to take over the State Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic), previously headed by Caipira. The new holder of the Deic has a 26-year career and has a master’s degree in law, justice and development, and a doctorate in the social function of law. Like Castiglione, Sayeg is also a professor at the “Dr. Coriolano Nogueira Cobra” – Acadepol.

The dismissal of inspector Rosemeire Monteiro de Francisco Ibanez, who had asked to leave her position at the end of last year, was also published in the Official Gazette. The column sought the defense of delegate Fábio Pinheiro Lopes for a demonstration, but, until the publication of the text, there was no response. Therefore, the space remains open for updating.
