Without mentioning President-elect Donald Trump (Republican), the president (PT) said goodbye this Friday afternoon to North American President Joe Biden (Democrat), who will leave his post at the White House on Monday (20 January).
On his official profile on X (formerly Twitter), Lula published a photo next to Biden and, in a farewell tone, recognized President Joe Biden for his work together over the last two years. He cited the North American president’s participation in the G20 Summit, in Rio de Janeiro, at the end of 2024.
“Our coordinated actions in favor of defending democracy, the climate agenda and the partnership for the rights of workers demonstrated how much Brazil and the USA can achieve together in search of a fairer world and a sustainable planet”wrote Lula.
The president welcomed the announced on Tuesday (14 January), to remove Cuba from the list of countries that sponsor “terrorism”. According to members of the North American administration, Lula had asked “directly to the president to remove Cuba from the List.

Lula did not mention the president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, who will be inaugurated next Monday (20 January). Brazil must send the to represent the Brazilian government at the event.
