Former president bought jewelry and trips with ‘blue and white’ money. There is no need for a complaint to move forward with an investigation: the Public Prosecutor’s Office is free to investigate former FC Porto administrators for various financial crimes.

The Public Ministry (MP) is free to investigate former FC Porto administrators on suspicion of crimes such as harmful management, abuse of trust, tax fraud e derision without needing a complaint to be filed, it moves forward this Saturday.

Among those involved is former president Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costawho may come to see their seized assets by Justice.

Pinto da Costa allegedly used club credit for personal expenses, such as purchasing jewelry and paying for stays in luxury hotels, expenses that were allegedly incorporated into the former president’s personal assets.

The investigation does not depend on a formal complaint, given that the crimes in question are public. Simple knowledge of the facts requires the opening of an investigation, and the MP may, if deemed necessary, request the preventive seizure of assets or bank accounts of those involved.

There are at least four former administrators under suspicionwrites Correio da Manhã.

In addition to Pinto da Costa, Vitor Baíaformer goalkeeper and former administrator of the club, is also under suspicion, being identified as responsible for personal expenses, including birthday parties, charged to the club.

It is not yet clear whether these expenses were previously authorized to be deducted from the premiums.

In addition to player transactions, the most recent one with FC Porto revealed irregularities in the sale of tickets for games at Super Dragões and the club’s venues, estimating plosses of 5.1 million euros in 2017/18, 2018/19, 2021/22, 2022/23 and 2023/24.

The Super Dragons have announced debts of two million in relation to tickets not refunded to FC Porto and a loss of 1.45 million in ineligible invoices under the protocol, having improperly used club resources to pay for personal trips for members and family members of the fans’ management towards destinations where there were no ‘Dragons’ games.

Unauthorized discounts were regularly attributed to the ‘Super’ on the face value of tickets sold for games at Estádio do Dragão, resulting in a loss of 850 thousand euros.

Pinto da Costa, the most titled president in the history of the Dragons, not only knew about the fraudulent scheme, but also supported and encouraged it: he served as well as through the support given by the fans to Pinto da Costa’s management, according to the search warrants delivered to the accused. at the time of the searches in May last year.

The discussion about the expulsion of ‘Macaco’ and his wife, Sandra Madureira, from members of FC Porto, was removed from the agenda of the General Assembly, due to their absence, prevented from appearing by the court.

Fernando Saul could see his suspension as a partner confirmed at the General Assembly this Saturday.
