The minister of the (Supreme Federal Court) ordered, this Friday (17), to interrogate the governor of Santa Catarina, Jorginho Mello (), within 15 days to clarify whether the former president () violated restrictive measures imposed by the court.
Last Monday (13), Mello said on the program “Direto ao Ponto”, on Jovem Pan News, that the national president of his party, , was in contact with Bolsonaro.
last year, when the minister vetoed communication between all those investigated in the operation that investigated an alleged case in 2022.
“The interview with the governor of Santa Catarina indicates a possible violation of the precautionary measures imposed by this Supreme Court, in particular the prohibition on maintaining contact with the other people under investigation applied to Jair Messias Bolsonaro and Valdemar Costa Neto,” said Moraes.
In the interview, the governor said: “And our president Valdemar talks a lot with President Bolsonaro, who is the honorary president, right? I hope that in a little while they can talk in the same room, right? To help each other even more.”
In October last year, the First Panel of the STF decided, unanimously, to refuse Bolsonaro’s request to allow him to resume contact with the others investigated in the case.
With the decisions, Bolsonaro continued to be prevented from communicating with close political and military allies — among them, the president of the PL and the retired general.
Moraes said, in one of the votes, that the Federal Police had already presented “robust evidence that those investigated participated in the process of planning and executing a coup d’état, which was not consummated due to circumstances beyond their control.”
Therefore, Bolsonaro’s prohibition on maintaining contact with other people being investigated would be necessary to “protect the investigation, avoiding the combination of versions, in addition to inhibiting possible undue influences on the mood of witnesses and other people.”
