Put bubble wrap in the cutlery drawer. You will say goodbye to a troublesome problem

Bubble wrap is mainly associated with securing items when moving or sending parcels. However, its structure – a layer of soft, flexible material with air-filled bubbles – also works perfectly as soundproofing. When we put it in drawers or kitchen cabinets, it absorbs the movements of objects inside and muffles noise. But not only that. Additionally, it acts as a protective barrier, preventing scratches and damage to the interior of the furniture. You can keep it clean easily and it is cheap (compared to specialized soundproofing inserts).

To effectively soundproof a drawer with bubble wrap, just take a few simple steps:

1. Material preparation

Measure the exact dimensions of the bottom of the drawer where you store the cutlery. Then cut a piece of bubble wrap to fit perfectly inside. You can use scissors or scissors to precisely fit the foil.

2. Laying the foil

Place the bubble wrap with the bubbles facing up on the bottom of the drawer. Thanks to this, the cutlery will have a delicate, flexible backing that will effectively reduce noise.

3. Cutlery organization

To further limit the movement of objects, you can use a cutlery organizer. Bubble foil combined with the organizer will ensure that the cutlery remains stable and the sounds associated with moving them will be completely eliminated.

Although bubble wrap is an effective and cheap solution for soundproofing noise coming from inside kitchen furniture, there are also other ways to do it:

  • self-adhesive anti-slip mats, e.g. made of rubber or silicone,
  • felt or foam inserts,
  • seals in cabinet doors,
  • organizers and dividers in drawers.

The clinking of cutlery is not the only acoustic problem you may encounter in . Noise is also often generated by other objects, such as pots, pans or lids that bang against each other when opening or closing cabinets. As with drawers, bubble wrap can be a great solution.
