When we notice that the tips of the leaves of the Spathiphyllum are drying, it should be a sign that we have made a care mistake. Usually the problem is incorrect air humidity. This happens especially often in winter, when radiators are turned on, which further dries the air. Due to the fact that the Spathiphyllum is a tropical plant, such low humidity contributes to the deterioration of its condition.
Another common mistake when growing Spathiphyllum is its improper watering. In the case of this plant, both excess and deficiency of water are equally harmful. Overwatering the specimen leads to rotting of the roots, while watering it too rarely results in the leaves drying out. Therefore we should do it regularly and only when the top layer of the substrate dries.
Fertilization may also have an impact on the drying out of the tips of the Spathiphyllum leaves. If we provide the substrate with too many mineral salts, which appear as a result of too frequent fertilization or result from watering with hard water, this may result in damage to the leaves.

When we want to get rid of dry leaf tips, we often use scissors to trim them. This is allowed, but we must do it carefully to prevent further damage from spreading. It should be cut to leave a minimum margin of dry tissue. Thanks to this, the plant will be protected against infections.
Once we notice a problem with the leaves we should also change the plant’s growing conditions. You should ensure appropriate air humidity, e.g. by placing an air humidifier or placing the flower on a tray with water and pebbles.
Let’s also remember to: water the plant only with filtered or standing water. Additionally, fertilize and water moderately. It is best to limit the use of fertilizers to once a month.
It is also worth supporting your Spathiphyllum with a simple home remedy. All we need to do is prepare our own. To do this, we only need to dissolve 1 teaspoon of sugar in 1 liter of boiled water.
Let the mixture cool down and then water the plant with it. However, we pour only enough of it to slightly moisten the soil. We use this fertilizer once a month. Thanks to it, the leaves of the Spathiphyllum will come back to life and will become impressive and lush green.
