Two days before Donald Trump’s return to the White House, thousands of people gathered on the streets of the US capital. Protesters are concerned about issues such as climate change and the conflict in the Middle East.
Thousands of people protested against the election of Donald Trump in Washington, United States of America, two days before the president-elect’s return to the White House.
“There are several very worrying things about the Trump Administration. From a theoretical point of view, it is approaching fascism, which is very worrying. Obviously another issue is Gaza and Palestine”, says a protester. “The main issue concerns the changes, which he denies,” says another.
Inauguration inside the Capitol
Snow and subzero temperatures didn’t stop protesters from marching, but they did cause plans for the inauguration to change. Instead of being in front of the Capitol, as in previous years, the ceremony will take place inside.
The last time there was a change in the location of the ceremony was 40 years ago, when Ronald Reagan took office for the second term of the presidency of the United States of America.
North American authorities expect around 200,000 people to attend the inauguration.
