Albufeira City Hall informs that between the 3rd and 21st of February the registration period for the concession of 18 housing units on an agreed rent basis will take place. The houses, owned by the city council, are distributed as follows: one T1, seven T2 and nine T3 located in the parish of Albufeira and Olhos de Água, and one T3 located in Ladeira da Fonte, in Paderne.
The mayor says that “this was the way found by the city hall to support families in situations of housing need, but who do not qualify for the Supported Rental program”.
José Carlos Rolo highlights that “Albufeira being a municipality where seasonal activity predominates, where there is a lack of rental properties and those that are available have very high prices, the issue of housing is of paramount importance, even causing a lack of labor – work for activities such as tourism, civil construction, education, health, among others essential to the normal development of the economy and the well-being of the population”.
Adults who meet the requirements defined in article 6 of the regulation may register. Registration must be made exclusively online, using the form available on the city hall portal at , attaching all necessary documents.

José Carlos Rolo highlights that “Albufeira being a municipality where a markedly seasonal economic activity predominates, in which a large part of the population works during the period from April to October and the other months live on the social unemployment benefit, means that these families have a large difficulty paying the house rent throughout the year.”
“This situation, in addition to high rent values and the lack of rental properties, brings enormous constraints in terms of the job market; there is a lack of workers in several areas, with emphasis on tourism, civil construction, education, health, among others, which led us to invest in this rental program with values lower than the average prices practiced in the rental market. private rental. In this way, we are able to support families in housing need but who do not qualify for the Supported Rental program”, concludes the mayor.
