These casseroles are proof that great culinary experiments can be created using only a few ingredients when made by a true master. Crispy and flavorful casseroles are made from bread, tomatoes, mushrooms and cheese. They do not contain meat ingredients, so they can also be eaten by vegetarians. A few moments are enough to enjoy a warming snack. If you are preparing casseroles for a party – make more in advance, because they disappear from the plate very quickly.
Ingredients:
- 10 slices of wheat bread,
- 150 g mushrooms,
- 2 tomatoes,
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce,
- a spoonful of butter,
- 70-90 g of yellow cheese,
- ground black pepper,
- parsley for decoration.
How to do it:
Wash the mushrooms, remove the stems (you can use them for other purposes, e.g. for soup or sauce), and cut the caps into thin slices and put them in a bowl. Pour boiling water over the mushrooms, leave for 30 seconds, then pour out the water and let the mushrooms dry. Then pour soy sauce over the mushrooms, mix and set aside. In the meantime, cut the tomatoes into slices (you can leave or remove the skin) and grate the cheese on a vegetable grater.
Spread the bread slices thinly with butter and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Place tomato slices on the bread and sprinkle lightly with ground black pepper. Drain the mushrooms from the soy sauce and arrange the mushrooms on top of the tomatoes. Cover everything with grated cheese.
Place the tray with the sandwiches in an oven preheated to 200°C and keep there (approx. 10-15 minutes) until the cheese melts and the bread becomes crispy. Serve Master Jakub’s casseroles directly from the oven. You can pour ketchup or other sauce over them and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
