The home team was consistent and took the lead with Carlão, but the boy Thalys left everything the same and closed the score at 1-1
It was held this Saturday (18) and was tied with the second round of the Campeonato Paulista. At the Alfredo de Castilho Stadium, the goals came in the second half. The home team was consistent and took the lead with Carlão, but the boy Thalys left everything the same and closed the score at 1-1.
Palmeiras’ performance was compatible with a mixed team just beginning its physical preparation. Some mismatches at the back combined with the lower intensity caused complications throughout the game, but these are easily correctable situations.
WE NEVER FORGET THE FIRST ONE! Thalys scored his first goal as a professional in Palmeiras’ draw against Noroeste and dedicated the goal to his family!

Raphael Veiga fulfilled his role well, Facundo Torres made a pleasant debut and the youth base, once again, reinforced their value. The best news for Palmeiras fans is that Abel is willing to give opportunities to some “forgotten” players in 2024 and can put together a team completely different from what was seen last season.
In the next round, Palmeiras will go to Vila Belmiro to face Santos. The classic is scheduled for Wednesday, at 9:35 pm. Noroeste plays on Thursday, at 6:30 pm, again in Bauru. The opponent this time is Botafogo from Ribeirão Preto.
As announced in the first round, Abel assembled a mixed team for the duel in Bauru. With the pre-season reduced, the best alternative is to balance energy to prepare athletes well for a year with many competitions. Of the traditional starters, the Portuguese only took to the field Gustavo Gómez, Aníbal Moreno and Raphael Veiga.
Noroeste was not intimidated and started the match testing the Palmeiras defense. Little by little, the visitors began to manage possession of the ball and create some chances, but the game continued in favor of the Bauru team, despite the chances for both sides. Lomba and Felipe Alves had to show their service.
The score did not leave the scoreboard in the first half, but it left evidence that Noroeste is capable of fighting for a place in the next phase. At Palmeiras, the defensive system showed problems, more precisely on the left, but the two defenders performed well in the area balls and, almost, did not put the Alviverde team at an advantage.
The two teams returned for the second half without changes and with a similar stance. In the 6th minute, Noroeste created a good move on the left side with Maykon, who crossed to Carlão. He had time to dominate, spin and hit to put the home team ahead on the scoreboard.
With the adverse score, Abel decided to change the team and replaced midfielder Rômulo in the place of full-back Giay, who occupied different positions on the field in Bauru. The boy Luighi also left, who gave way to Thalys. The 19-year-old striker proved to be an opportunist. After a failure by Noroeste to remove the danger from the penalty area, the ball fell to the young man, who managed a beautiful finish to leave everything equal, at 24. It was his first goal as a professional at Palmeiras.
