In addition to humanitarian aid, dozens of tankers with fuel are also waiting on the Egyptian side to enter the Strip through the Rafah or Kerem Shalom crossings, the latter connecting Israel with the south of the Palestinian enclave.
The head of Egyptian diplomacy, Badr Abdelaty, said for his part that the Rafah crossing, closed since the Israeli army took the Palestinian side in May 2024, “will soon be operational” again and that the authorities “are rehabilitating it.” ”. He specified that, according to the ceasefire agreement, some 600 trucks with aid will enter Gaza daily, 50 of them with fuel, and expressed his hope that “300 of these trucks will reach the north of the Strip” where the situation It is even more tragic and more disastrous.”
