According to climatologist Mário Marques, the rain will begin to fall late Monday afternoon and could be persistent for two days, with expected accumulations of between 30 and 60 millimeters in 48 hours.
Civil Defense has already issued warnings about possible flooding in urban areas, overflowing rivers and streams, landslides and landslides. Road circulation may also be affected due to slippery surfaces.
