Social networks, once a place to connect with fans, are increasingly turning into a battlefield full of criticism, hatred and insults. The anonymity of the online space gives people the courage to write things they would never say in real life. Comments about appearance, life decisions or privacy can affect even the most self-confident.
This pressure, seemingly inseparable from life in the spotlight, often has major consequences. Celebrities are well aware that their careers are inextricably linked to the public eye, but that doesn’t mean their fame protects them from painful attacks. Hate messages, mockery or unconstructive criticism have become a common part of their lives.
From time to time, such negative messages are published by public figures on social networks. So did the former television presenter Markíza and well-known confectioner Adriana Kneissl (48). “Think about yourself and work on making people like you” was the critical message she received. “I also receive such messages. I wonder where this is going. I still believe that the good has not disappeared.” wrote Adriana with hope.
