The rulers lose, the FPÖ wins: the trend did not stop at Burgenland. But with a loss of 3.6 percentage points, Governor Hans Peter Doskozil and his SPÖ got off relatively lightly. The penalized colleagues in Lower Austria, Carinthia and Styria can only dream of still getting 46.4 percent of the vote. This is especially true for the red federal party under Andreas Babler, which has 21 percent.
