The Competition Authority (AdC) gave the ‘green light’ to the purchase of Minor Luxury Hotels Vilamoura, owner of a hotel, operating under the Anantara Hotels & Resorts brand, by a company from the Arrow group.
The Board of Directors of the AdC decided on January 15th a decision not to oppose the concentration operation, justifying that it is not “likely to create significant obstacles to effective competition in the national market”
The company Vilamoura World Holdings (VWH), part of the Arrow Group, notified the AdC, in December, of its intention to acquire exclusive control over Minor Luxury Hotels Vilamoura.
He detailed that VWH is a “Portuguese company that is part of the Arrow Group”, and “in Portugal, the activities of the Arrow Group correspond to the management of overdue and doubtful credits and real estate investments, namely through Norfin and Whitestar, as well as the operation of tourist accommodation enterprises, in the Algarve and Madeira regions, and the operation of golf courses, in the Algarve and Lisbon”.
