A few hours after the release of the first hostages from Hamas and their return to Israel, Joe Biden made statements and referred to the great steps taken to reach the truce.
In the statements made by the US president, he pointed out, among other things: “After so much pain, destruction, loss of life, today, the guns in Gaza fell silent.”
At another point in his statement he said: “This is one of the toughest negotiations I’ve been involved in, but we got to this point today because of Israel’s pressure on the US-backed Hamas.”
Joe Biden also announced that hundreds of trucks are carrying humanitarian aid to the Palestinian enclave.
