Stylist shows the piece planned for the occasion; Former president has his passport withheld by the courts
The stylist shared this Sunday (19 January 2025), on her Instagram profile, a video of the former president (PL) trying on the tuxedo he planned to wear at the inauguration of (Republican) as president of the United States.
According to the fashion consultant, the outfit was “carefully chosen” for the occasion, but it ended up not being used due to Bolsonaro’s inability to leave Brazil, as his passport is withheld by court order.
In the video, Cynara described the situation as “a story that no stylist would want to tell” and dubbed the piece “the tuxedo that wasn’t”. In the caption, he explained that the outfit had been prepared for the ceremony in Washington, where Bolsonaro would be as Trump’s guest, but that “destiny took another turn, and the occasion did not happen”.
Despite not having participated in the event, Cynara stated that the tuxedo has a special symbolism. For her, the piece represents a “history of dedication and excellence”, reflecting “commitment to elegance and respect in any setting”.
BOLSONARO ACCOMPANIES MICHELE
Bolsonaro accompanied his wife, Michelle Bolsonaro, to Brasília international airport on Saturday (18 January). He became emotional when he said that he would not participate in the inauguration of the president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump (Republican), on Monday (Jan. 20). He told journalists at the scene that he was “upset and shaken”.
“Obviously it would be great for me to go. President Trump would really like it, so much so that he invited me. I’m upset, still shaken. […] I face enormous political persecution from one person”said Bolsonaro. He also said he felt like a “political prisoner”.
