Most of us have suffered from a severe headache at some point. Do not ignore the headache
Doktor Nicholas Johnson stated that it is not easy to distinguish a common headache from symptoms that could be dangerous for you. When should you seek help?
According to experts headaches can last 30 minutes, several hours, or sometimes several days. Some common causes can be reversed without medical intervention. However, they point out that there are seven warning signs to look out for and you should seek immediate medical attention if they occur:
- It’s coming very suddenly
- It is the worst headache of your life
- You are using a blood thinner
- You have problems with your immune system, such as diabetes or HIV, or you are being treated with steroids or chemotherapy
- You have numbness or weakness in the arms and legs, slurred speech, seizures or other neurological symptoms
- You feel pain in the back of the head or pain that spreads down the neck
- Ste older than 50 years
