Black deposits from overflowing pots and burnt pieces of food from frying in the pan litter the area around the plates. And that on a cheaper electric stove with cast-iron plates, glass-ceramic, induction and those with gas burners. What about that?
The basis is regular cleaning
Maintaining the stove after cooking, or God forbid, if we start cleaning it after a long time, while we cook on it every day, becomes a literal nightmare for many cooks. That’s why rule number one is to maintain your stove regularly after every cooking session, but let’s be honest, who among us has time for that these days. That is, we who like a clean and shiny kitchen, willy-nilly still have to get into the stove. How do we get rid of all that greasy horror?
Here on the YouTube channel, nice Eliška explains with a video how to clean the stove and the waste drain.

This duo is a great helper
It is a very effective solution for stubborn dirt baking soda in subsequent combination with vinegar. It is known that the properties of soda, which you may also know as baking soda, are versatile, and it is baking soda that plays a big role in household chores.
It has an easy so-called abrasive effects, that is, it is able to mechanically abrade the surface without damaging it. That’s one plus. Baking soda also dissolves dirt and grease, and that’s what we’re after. And then we still have the aforementioned ordinary vinegar, a liter can be bought for as little as 10 crowns if you come across a discount event. Vinegar is also praised for its ability to prevent grease build-up.
Be patient, it will pay off
If you add a little water to half a cup of baking soda, a few spoons will be enough, you will get a paste, which is then enough to smear the corroded and dirty surface of the stove. What is important in this procedure: Leave the paste on the contaminated areas at least overnight.
You will see that you are not stupid. After letting the baking soda and water do their work, start the long phase. Pour the vinegar into a spray bottle and spray the areas where the paste was applied, it will start to bubble a little because the acidity of the vinegar foams when it comes in contact with the baking soda. Then clean everything thoroughly with a cloth and you’re done.
This method of cleaning soda with vinegar is popular among those who like to save nature and try to avoid buying various chemicals in plastic bottles and sprays. Try not to use anything sharp, a knife or the like, on the dirtier places, you would end up with unsightly scratches, and you don’t want that.
I read somewhere that pumice stone is great for cleaning the stove, yes, the one from the bathroom, as we scrub our heels with it. I eagerly tried it, fortunately only on a tiny area around the lithium plate, but the result was not worth anything. No, pumice stone, please don’t try, I did it for you and I regretted it.
How to get rid of dirt on the grates of a gas stove?
In the case of a gas stove, in addition to cleaning the area around the burners, you also need to deal with the accumulated dirt on the grates above the burners. How about them? Simple, hand out with a lemon! Squeeze the juice from a few lemons, at worst use store-bought concentrate. Leave it on overnight again and then scrub with a kitchen sponge. Done.
