President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva gave a speech full of demands to the top echelon of his government at the ministerial meeting that is underway this Monday morning, 20th, at Granja do Torto. He said that the government has no right to make mistakes, that he will call several assistants for individual conversations and mentioned corrections to be made this year. The PT member’s speech at the beginning of the appointment was broadcast.
The meeting is being held while the political world awaits the first stage of the ministerial reform expected this year. At this stage, Lula must change ministers from his closest political group whose performances he considers unsatisfactory. Then there must be changes at the first level aimed at strengthening the Executive’s base in Congress.

“Let’s see if in this year 2025 we can correct what we may have done wrong or failed to do, and we will try to do with much more strength what we haven’t done yet”, said the president.
“We have no right to make mistakes. It is important that each of you reflect, because later I will call many people individually to talk”, declared Lula. He stated that 2025 will define what the government will accomplish until the end of its term, in 2026. And that the meeting is precisely to define these plans. “This will be a defining year in the history and biography of each of you”, declared the head of government.
Lula once again stated that the government spent its first two years “putting things in order” and that now is no longer the time to “invent” new programs, but to make those already announced work. He stated that it is necessary to be sure to reap everything that was sown – a metaphor often used by the president – and that this depends on the effort of ministers.

“The delivery we made to the people has not yet been the delivery we committed to making in 2022, because many of the things we planted have not yet sprouted,” declared the PT member, demanding his assistants.
