President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) greeted the president of the United States (USA), Donald Trump, after the Republican took office this Monday (20).
“Relations between Brazil and the USA are marked by a trajectory of cooperation, based on mutual respect and historical friendship”, wrote Lula in a publication in X.
The Brazilian president also said that the nations have “strong ties” in several areas, such as trade, science, education and culture.
“I am certain that we can continue to advance in these and other partnerships. I wish President Trump a successful mandate, which will contribute to the prosperity and well-being of the people of the United States and a more just and peaceful world”, concluded President Lula.
