Residents of the Slovak Republic should not just be passive observers of the situation in the country and wait to see how it develops. Everyone who lives in Slovakia has its fate in their hands. This was announced by Slovak President Peter Pellegrini after a New Year’s meeting with church representatives.
“Politicians also have to stop with the kind of politics they tell us, because once every four years the voters present us with a bill. A politician is responsible for his actions every single day and every single day in office has an impact, positive or negative, on how the mood of society or the country as a whole will evolve“, emphasized the president.
The head of state recalled that the atmosphere in society did not improve after the assassination of Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) and, on the contrary, aggression is increasing. According to Pellegrini, Slovakia needs more positive things. “Here we have to admit that only negative news is pouring in on us from morning to evening,” the president added.
