Quick puff pastry cookies. For unannounced guests or when you feel like eating something sweet

Quick puff pastry cookies you can prepare it in half an hour (actually in 5 minutes, because they will spend the rest in the oven), so they are perfect for an unannounced visit of guests. You only need two ingredients and the oven turned on. To make the cookies, use white or cane sugar, whichever you prefer. In both cases they will be delicious. Quick puff pastry cookies are tastiest immediately after preparation, but they will also be delicious when sealed tightly on the second day.

Ingredients:

  • 120-170 g of white or cane sugar,
  • a sheet of puff pastry (300 g).

How to do it:

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Sprinkle the counter or pastry board with 2-3 tablespoons of sugar. Unroll the sheet and place it on top of the sugar, then roll it out to an even thickness so that the sugar sticks into the dough. Then sprinkle with another 2-3 tablespoons of sugar and lightly knead the sugar with an open hand.

Start rolling the dough from one long side and stop in the middle. Repeat with the opposite side so that the rolls meet. Using a sharp knife, cut the roulade into even pieces – approx. 2 cm wide. Place each slice flat on a baking tray lined with baking paper and sprinkle with sugar again.

Place in the oven for approx. 20-25 minutes. After baking, remove the cookies from the oven and turn them over to cool. Serve with a cup of tea or coffee.
