Registration open for caregivers at Tavira Food Gardens

The Food Gardens are an initiative born from a winning proposal in the 2020/2021 Participatory Budget, promoted by the Municipality of Tavira, with the aim of creating a network of spaces cultivated by the community throughout the municipality.

The first phase of registration for caregivers takes place between January 20th and February 3rd. Anyone over the age of 16 can register if they are residents, registered workers, students or representatives of non-profit legal entities that pursue purposes of public interest in the municipality of Tavira.

Registration must be made using a specific form, available at or in person at the Balcão Único da Prefeitura.

This initiative aims to transform public spaces into interpretive zones with food uses in urban centers, while offering residents the opportunity to learn how to grow healthy, seasonal foods. In addition to contributing to the beautification of the city, the Food Gardens promote food security and conscious food consumption.
