Ponte Preta and Santos drew 1-1 at Moisés Lucarelli stadium, in Campinas, on Sunday night (19), in the second round of the Campeonato Paulista 2025. The game was marked by a balance between the teams, with both teams looking for victory until the final whistle.
The first half was one of few emotions, with the teams studying each other and creating few clear scoring chances. Ponte Preta opened the scoring in the 43rd minute, when Jean Dias took advantage of a cross from Danilo Barcelos to head free between the defenders.
The equalizer came after Léo Godoy cut a connection from Ponta, threw the ball to Luca Meirelles on the left wing, who crossed low and found Guilherme on the penalty spot to finish into the goal.
In the last play, Lucas Braga lost the ball in midfield, Élvis threw it to Ponte’s attack, Pacheco crossed, Renato hit, but Gabriel Brazão managed to save the shot and seal the result.
With the result, they reached 4 points and occupy second place in Group B of Paulistão. Ponte Preta now has 4 points and is in third place in Group D.
