On the entire territory of Slovakia, expect fog on Monday morning. In some districts, ice also occurs. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ) also issued first level warnings against these phenomena. SHMÚ informs about it on its website.
According to meteorologists, visibility may drop to 50 to 200 meters. “Reduced visibility represents a potential danger for traffic activities. The occurrence of fog with the specified visibility is common at the given time of year and area, but can cause damage of a smaller scale,” said the institute.
Ice warnings apply in the entire Bratislava, Trenčín, Trnava and Nitra regions, as well as in most districts of Banskobystrické, Košice and Prešovské regions and in Bytča district. Warnings against fog are provisionally valid until 10:00 a.m., against ice throughout the day.
