US President again alleges fraud in the 2020 elections and claims he moderated his speech during the inauguration ceremony

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, adopted a tone similar to that of his campaign rallies in his first speech after the inauguration, held this 2nd (Jan. 20, 2025). Upon leaving the Capitol Rotunda, the Republican spoke to supporters at Emancipation Hall, a space intended for visitors, where he reaffirmed themes central to the most conservative wing of the party, Maga (“Make America Great Again”).

Trump repeated accusations of electoral fraud in the 2020 elections, stating that the election was “totally manipulated” against him. According to the president, the feeling of “injustice” motivated his candidacy in 2024.

“If I thought I lost that election fairly, I wouldn’t run again. But I knew how well we did.”he declared. He also stated that the 2024 elections were “too big to handle”.

The speech also included criticism of “lying press” and attacks on political opponents. Trump blamed former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi for the lack of security at the Capitol during the January 6, 2021 invasion and criticized the (Democratic Party) members of the commission that investigated the episode.
