What is the correct body temperature? Doctors: 36.6 is a myth

The first standard for human body temperature was established by the German doctor Carl Wunderlich in the 19th century. According to him, at that time, was 37 degrees Celsius. Shortly thereafter, its guidelines were revised and the standard body temperature for humans was determined to be 36.6 degrees Celsius. Although there has been tremendous progress in medicine over the past 100 years, little has changed when it comes to body temperature. Only recently have scientists come to the conclusion that the classic “36.6” may no longer be relevant. Two groups of researchers have reached such conclusions.

When wondering whether the normal body temperature is 36.6 degrees Celsius, you can rely on two scientific studies. The first one was carried out in 2017 in Great Britain, and the second one in 2019 in Palo Alto, USA. According to data collected by the British, body temperature is still normal 36.6 degrees Celsius. In turn, American researchers determined that the normal body temperature in their control group was 36.4 degrees Celsius. Although the differences are small, they may indicate a trend and direction of changes in this aspect.

The researchers also studied farmers and foragers from the Tsimane tribe in Bolivia. In their case, average body temperature decreases by 0.05 degrees Celsius per year and currently it is 36.5 degrees Celsius. According to anthropologists, the decrease in human body temperature (compared to the 19th century) is primarily due to the improvement in the quality of life. Thanks:
