Flamengo is looking for its first victory in the Campeonato Carioca against Bangu. The game takes place this Wednesday (22/01), at 7pm, at Castelão de São Luís, in Maranhão.
Using an alternative team, as the starters are in pre-season in the United States, Flamengo has recorded a draw and two defeats so far in the state, occupying only 11th place in Carioca, among 12 teams competing in the competition.

Flamengo continues with an alternative team for the clash, as the main squad is in the United States in pre-season.
Coach Cléber dos Santos has several under-20 athletes, with the exception of Carlinhos, Lorran, Cleiton and Dyogo Alves.

Flamengo’s last match in Maranhão
The match taking place in the capital of Maranhão marks a period of almost 10 years since the last time Rubro-negro played a match at the stadium in São Luís. On that occasion, the Rio team drew 1-1 with Criciúma, in the 36th round of the 2015 Brasileirão.
The goals were scored by Elton, for Flamengo, and Cleber Santana, for Tigre. The game marked the Santa Catarina team’s relegation to series B that year.
Interestingly, the match marked the professional debuts of striker Róger Guedes, defender Iago Maidana and midfielder Dodi.
